EARTH RISING -The Revolution
A Book In Review
If you have read "Angels Don't Play This HAARP " you will like this update and extension to the rest of the "technological story". However, Begich's new book is much more than a HAARP update. With coauthor Roderick he has compiled a most impressive report on modern technology and its impact on mankind based on thousands of documents, of which 1200 were indexed for this book and 600 finally used . With having the appropriate footnote on the relevant page it makes for quicker and more convenient reference reading than the usual lists at the end of the book.
This type of straight forward report makes the book a fountain of information especially for those who wondered if the modern technological developments are hearsay, SciFi, or fact. Begich and Roderick leave no doubt. They quote all the official sources - US patents , military contracts, and research papers - to demonstrate how far reality is already ahead of most TV and movie SciFi technology and the general public perception of modern technological possibilities.
The short to-the-point style in simple plain language may be more appealing to technical persons , but it is a refreshing no-nonsense approach which will be especially appreciated by readers educated in Europe. In its pure-fact-presenting style the book is perhaps hard to read for sensible people and frightening for anyone faint of heart. Nevertheless, it is written in such basic wording that even politicians can (and all should) read and understand it.
The authors' plea to take back the political control of technological development and our human future, however, seems to be just another "American Dream". The new Millienium's reality in governmental approaches, media manipulations, and the general public's complacency may need a much stronger shake up than the book alone can provide. Begich's unwavering faith in the good of people and mankind , and his vocal defense of fundamental democratic principles and human rights, is a brave, even heroic effort given the reality in World - and primarily US - affairs today.
This 300 page paperback book is not only a must read - it is a must have !
