Composting Seminars
The Belleville Garden Club, as part of it's regular monthly meetings, will be having a discussion about composting. The composting talk will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2000, beginning at 7:30 PM. The guest speaker will be Marvin Tucker of Quinte Waste Solutions. Belleville Garden Club meetings are held at the Veteran's Hall, on the east side of Elmwood Drive, just east of Belleville. The Stirling Horticultural Society will have a guest speaker on Composting, as part of their regular monthly meetings. Marvin Tucker of Quinte Waste Solutions will be the guest speaker on Monday, June 19, 2000, starting at 7:00 PM. Hazardous Waste Collection for Businesses
Now there's a low-cost, environmentally-responsible option for local businesses that want to dispose of hazardous material. Call the Waste Services Board for more information at 394-6266.

Clothing Recycling
Beginning January 1, 1998, the Recycling program is no longer collecting clothing in the blue Box. While we don't like to see the program cut back in any way, this move will help us to make the program more efficient. There are still good alternatives to ensure that old clothing does not get into the garbage.

You can call the Salvation Army at 968-7776 (Belleville) or 392-4538 (Quinte West). Alternatively, Cerebral Palsy also picks up clothing in this area periodically. They can be reached at (613) 384-1957.
