Materials Exchange

Here is a real opportunity to save money! Have you ever thought "Some of this stuff I need to dispose of might be useful to someone else?"  Well, that is often true and we would like to help match up Disposers and Users. Here's how it works:

Call  the Recycling Board and be prepared to provide the following information:

We have found exchanges for Boxes, Inks, Dyes, Glues, Tarps, Fibreglass automotive fenders, Packaging materials, Computer paper, Computers & Equipment, Bags, Spools, Film reels, Pails, Pallets, and various other items.

The savings are threefold:

  1. the disposer saves the cost of landfill and/or disposal fees
  2. the user gets a raw material at little or no cost
  3. we all save by reducing the demand for landfill and conserving resources.

As this web site is developed, we hope to post material types and quantities. We will provide an active search to find a possible user. Keep your eye on this site for the development of this Waste Exchange Service.

Another material exchange service available locally is the Chemical Inventory Exchange Program. For further information, contact: Lyn Knell at the Green Home Centre, 613-966-2007.
